About this deal

serotonin/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs; e.g., desvenlafaxine, duloxetine, venlafaxine) This medicinal product contains 31 mg of sodium per dose. To be taken into consideration by patients on a controlled sodium diet. This medicinal product contains 19% v/v ethanol (alcohol) i.e. 3.8 ml per 20 ml dose, equivalent to 76 ml beer or 31.6 ml wine. Expectorants such as guaifenesin are used to treat a productive, chesty or mucus cough, where you cough up phlegm. Guaifenesin helps to thin and loosen the mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough up. Taking any other product for colds, flu or congestion as Covonia All-in-One contains a decongestant

This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per dose, that is to say essentially 'sodium-free'. Pregnancy:This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you are pregnant, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Benylin mucus cough & cold all-in-one relief tablets contain the painkiller paracetamol (250mg), a cough expectorant called guaifenesin (100mg) and a decongestant called phenylephrine hydrochloride (5mg). These three active ingredients have different actions to relieve your symptoms. If you take Benylin mucus cough & cold all-in-one relief in the hour before or the six hours after taking colestyramine, the paracetamol is likely to be less effective. This is because colestyramine reduces the absorption of paracetamol from the gut. The antidiabetic medicines exenatide, lixisenatide and liraglutide may slow down the absorption of paracetamol into the bloodstream, so it might take longer to work if you're using one of these medicines to treat your diabetes. Ask your pharmacist for more advice.

Undesirable effects are rare with normal doses of phenylephrine, however it can cause the adverse effects typical of sympathomimetics including: hypertension, palpitations (tachycardia), headache, dizziness, vomiting, diarrhoea and insomnia. Urinary retention has also been reported – this is more likely to occur in men with an enlarged prostate (frequency not known). If you notice these or any other side effects not included above, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do Co-administration with medicines containing e.g. propylene glycol or ethanol may lead to accumulation of ethanol and induce adverse effects, in particular in young children with low or immature metabolic capacity.

If you're taking medicines for high blood pressure you shouldn't take Benylin mucus cough & cold all-in-one relief, because the decongestant may make your blood pressure medicine less effective. Paracetamol is thought to relieve pain by reducing the production of prostaglandins in the brain and spinal cord. It works to bring down a fever by affecting an area of the brain that regulates our body temperature (the hypothalamic heat-regulating center). This stops you feeling hot or shivery. If you forget a dose: Take the next dose as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose.
