About this deal

I guess the heart rate sensor is okay, but I wouldn't trade a COROS Pace 2 or Garmin Forerunner 245 for the G-SQUAD PRO GSW-H1000 for running training. Most of the readings from the watch were way off, telling me my heart rate was in the 'light' zone when in fact, I was almost out of breath. senzor pokreta odgovara ubrzanju i prikazuje se kao brzina na displeju. Senzor takođe podržava funkciju auto rotacije sata omogućavajući tako da se slika uvek prikazuje uspravno na displeju. One of the best aspects of the Casio G-SQUAD PRO GSW-H1000 is that it comes fully loaded with different sensors. You get an optical heart rate sensor, built-in GPS chip, magnetic sensor (for the digital compass), pressure sensor (for the barometer/altimeter), accelerometer and gyrometer.

As mentioned above, different buttons allow access to different menus, and this is all fine, but some features don't blend well or, in some cases, straight-up ignore each other. One good example is workouts: you can start a workout by swiping the Wear OS tiles and finding the one dedicated to workouts; another way is to press the top button to access the Casio workout menu. The challenge of essentially offering two different software approaches is an interesting one and it's been done with mixed results on Wear OS watches. The ‘History’ tab allows you to scroll through your workout history, with swathes of statistics to pore over. If you want toexport this data, you can either share a stylised image of your running route overlaid with a few key stats, or – thanks to anupdate – link the app with Strava, Apple Health or Google Fit. This connectivity introduces a welcome dose of flexibility, butthose invested in alternative workout platforms, such as MapMyRun or RunKeeper, will still find it restrictive VerdictTime Mode + heart rate monitor function: about 66 hours (includes power-saving function and heart rate sleep mode) There’s a steep learning curve for the watch’s proprietary OS, too. With six faces and seven mode screens to delve through, it takes time to understand the role of each button, which can change depending on the mode. After several weeks of testing, certain inputs still felt unintuitive – and it’s telling that the user manual requires a flow chart to illustrate how to navigate the interface. Interval measurement (up to 5 timers); measuring unit: 1 second; countdown range: 60 minutes; countdown start time setting range: 1 second to 60 minutes; 1-second accuracy; auto-repeat

By analyzing measured data, the watch can display an indicator of cardiorespiratory capacity (VO2max). With the Bluetooth functionality and smartphone app, the user can manage recorded data such as calories burned and and logged travel. Training analysis functions include fitness level trend, training load trend, VO2max, and recovery time. The training log data measures up to 100 runs (and up to 140 laps per run) with elapsed time, distance, pace, calories burned, heart rate, maximum heart rate, aerobic training effect, and anaerobic training effect. A map display of the route traveled (recorded with GPS) is available on the smartphone app. The smartphone app can also automatically create training plans that are tailored to set targets. Minimum heart rate/maximum heart rate; heart rate graph display (when heart rate measurement is continuously ON) Ukupno, medju i split mereno vreme može da se čuva u memoriji sa datumom i može kasnije da se prikaže. Set podataka obuhvata: datum, ukupno vreme, međuvreme, lap i split vremena. Memorija može da čuva do 100 setova podataka You can also peruse the training effect of the run and there is also a handy little chart mapping pace/heart rate/elevation change. There is even an option to add a memo about the run which is handy since you can mark any occurrence that affected your run (e.g. had to have a 30 second small talk with a 'friend').The final piece in the puzzle is the ability to sync this data with third party services, which currently is not possible. That will change soon: Casio is promising to add Strava and Google Fit connectivity in a few weeks – but it needs to be offering more than this. How accurate is it?

The GPS chip supports GPS+GLONASS and this to me suggests it’s either an old chipset or one that Casio designed themselves. With the ProTrek watches, Casio claimed to me that the GNSS chipset was made by Casio and not one of the usual SnapDragon models, so it’s a reasonable assumption that they are still using that chip or a newer variant. I doubt that a Casio-designed chip is as power-efficient as the Sony model(s) in wide usage elsewhere in the smartwatch industry and perhaps also not as good as the SnapDragon chipset which has built-in GNSS capability. Some of the training functions include displaying the distance, speed, and pace measured by GPS or accelerometer, automatic run timing start, and target alarm setting (time, altitude, calories burned). The training display on the watch is customizable. In addition to GPS, the watch can also receive data from GLONASS and Michibiki (QZSS) satellite systems. Google's Wear OS is running the software show and when you hit that middle physical button, you'll find that familiar Wear app screen. It uses the same swipe gestures to show your notification feed, access Google's Assistant, see your Tiles (widgets) and get to the shortcut settings. The GBD-H1000 doesn’t feature a touchscreen, so all interactions are relegated to five physical buttons that encompass the watch. These buttons are quite large and feature tactile grips of their own. It’s unlike anything you’d expect to see on a typical smartwatch and so there’s a definite learning curve to using this layout, but after some time with the device it becomes easy enough to wrap your head around. A 3-axis accelerometer measures step count. Step count display range: 0-99,999 steps; step count reset: auto-reset every night at midnight (0:00), step count accuracy: ±3% (from vibration testing machine) There are 15 activities and 24 indoor workout options on the watch, including essentials such as running and cycling but also swimming and elliptical training. I only tried the watch for running, walking, swimming and strength training.
