This second generation impact driver is superior to it's first generation counterpart, where it offers more torque, speed, working life and efficiency.
Well this unit has the torque. The different speed selection is useful and the torque is much higher than the drill driver, which is okay for small DIY jobs but not up to CLS stud work for example. Rea lly happy with the tool though. No problems at all, just adapting to having the right tool with a lot more power. The batteries last well but will be significantly discharged over a day, I use the drill for pilots and the driver for the heavy screws. Consider a spare battery for charging and a fast charger to get it charged while using the others or to do multiple batteries overnight. The Dewalt DCF887N offers fantastic value for money, with its brushless motor allowing for increased torque, power and efficiency. It really does offer a massive amount of torque considering the size and cost of the tool, so it will be able to work well under pressure.This model of the Dewalt Impact Drill is manufactured with a new impact mechanism, meaning the tool can provide you with longer drive and better speed – this can be seen massively when working with tougher materials as the DCF887N is still able to maintain decent speeds of around 430RPM!
The number one thing that we notice about the DeWalt DCF887 is definitely its ultra-compact form factor with a head length of only 140mm. This allows the device to reach the tightest spaces possible and allows you to work in a more comfortable manner. Its lightweight design also helps with that, of course - with only 1.4 kg of weight, the impact driver doesn't become too exhausting to use even after long work periods. In addition to that, the motor design is fully brushless. Which means, it requires little to no servicing in the long run and the batteries last longer than usual. Improved Power and Speed If you are going to be relying on your tools regularly, or are a bit of a gadget nut, then we would say it is worth the extra money if you are looking to invest in a NEW tool. However, if your current Dewalt is working perfectly fine, they personally we wouldn’t be forking out for new!
