About this deal

The Queen is lying in state in London ahead of her funeral. Here is some of the information mourners need to know. The line has stretched along the south bank of the River Thames, past landmarks such as Tower Bridge and a replica of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, crossing Lambeth Bridge as it neared Westminster Hall. Hundreds of thousands are expected to join the queue over the next three days to bid the Queen a final farewell as they file past her coffin. Mourners have already been pictured in tears as they pay their respects, as well as making the sign of the cross and standing in prayer.

Her Majesty's coffin is lying-in-state in Westminster Hall. It is open to the public 24 hours a day from 5pm on Wednesday 14 September until 6.30am on Monday 19 September. Extra transport services, including additional night trains, were put on to help mourners get in and out of central London to pay their respects.

Will I be able to see the Queen's body or just her coffin?

The wristband was a record of when people joined the queue and did not guarantee entry to the lying in state. It is advised that there will be very little opportunity to sit down because the queues are likely to be continuously moving, with a first-come-first-served policy in place. This allows the app to assign a unique combination of words to anyone's location, narrowing it down to the three-metre area on the globe's surface. Meanwhile MailOnline can reveal that mourners will be prevented from seeing the lying in state if they arrive at the end of the queue in Southwark Park later than 12.30am early on Sunday morning.

These items cannot be taken into or left in the Palace of Westminster. Floral tributes only should be taken to the dedicated floral tribute area in Green Park. Tatie Kirst, 38, a project manager who had just joined the queue, said: "I think I'm prepared, I brought my good coat, I have a stool if I need to sit, I'm getting food and water, and we're going to walk the way. Please respect the dignity of this event and behave appropriately. You should remain silent while inside the Palace of Westminster.
