About this deal

It is deeply personal: the author uses himself as a succesful "case study" for each of the points he makes. He also signals clearly when something he says is an opinion, a fact or an analysis, and most of the time provides convincing arguments. Initially, that was a big yawn. Then I reached a section where I actually needed a bazillion examples of how to follow his advice. I had to read every single one of them to reach that essential "ah-HA!" moment.

This book spills the secrets on Coles meteoric success - a method he's proven in his own life, and one which many writers in his highly-regarded online courses have emulated. (Just look at the testimonials on Ship30for30 if you don't believe me!)If and when you then try to direct people to your stuff, do so within context and with a link within the flow of the text. Like I might do right here, to give you an example of how that’s done and at the same time subtly refer to my upcoming book on ‘ How to Find and Live your Purpose, Communicate and Live it’ — which is my own specialization within the realm of Storytelling. That said, starting a blog is the right decision when you’re a business selling a product or when you want a marketing tool for your business. There’s a third scenario which is the least common, but you can also start a blog when you write for yourself. Chapter 2: The New Way to Think About Being a Writer In the Digital Age

Eg: when Keanu Reeves did this whole breathtaking thing for Cyberpunk, you could use that to write “Keanu Reeves is a marketing genius”. How to “niche down” as a ghostwriter, create your own category, and differentiate yourself from any and all competition. When, after, and only when and after you’ve spent a considerable amount of time (6 to 12 months) writing online, practicing and honing your writing skills in public, paying attention to what people want to read about from you by analyzing your data, and creating an audience — only thenshould you start thinking about ways to start making money. Then write. And try to unveil new information to your reader with every new sentence, wherever possible. Your paragraphs should line up neatly to tell your story from beginning to end, in such a way that your story unfolds clearly from your Title and Introduction. Your introduction should preferably begin with one simple, strong sentence. Think about the outline for your post after your title and intro. Sure, with this much practice I’ve hadsome successes and certainly helped people grow their business with my writing, but by no means have I ‘made it’, or ‘beaten the game’. Nicolas seems to have done just that. And I wanna learn. Why ghostwriting is much more lucrative (and why it’s the fastest path to earning 6-figures for yourself as a writer).

People remember you through repetition, so you might have to rephrase an idea in several articles. Chapter 11: Pillar Pieces: How to Turn Proven Online Writing into Longer, More Valuable Assets Determine, as early as possible, which category you’re competing in. Once you do so, you can start climbing the ladder you choose. Alternatively, you can create your own category. Level 3: Define Your Style What is a category? Imagine you walk into a bookstore. You’ll have the science category, the cooking category, the business category, etc.It takes time to get noticed. You have to write regularly and just ignore the mean and negative comments. His logic is that whether you realize it or not, if you’re writing online, you’re vying for someone’s attention. And guess what, so are approximately 4 billion other humans. If you want to reach anyone through your online writing, or if you want to reach any kind of goal with your words other than to ‘simply have them out there’, you first need to realize this is like a game you’re playing. Your goal is figuring out how to maximize your chances of winning.

I read this off a recommendation from Ali Abdaal. Though I'm not interested in becoming a writer, it was pitched as a book that would help any online creator.Goal #1: See if you can be consistent. The minimum amount of writing and posting is one per month, but you should write twice per month. Ideally, you should write daily or at least several times per week. One-sentence paragraphs alternated with three- or five-sentence paragraphs help you create rhythm. As do short sentences in cadence with longer ones.
