Followed well waymarked footpath past fishery,over electric fence,through two fields,turn right,across field,through gate on left and up hill to farm track. Cotton mills, printworks, bleachworks, an iron foundry, and a paper mill were important industries in this part of Turton after the Industrial Revolution.I have visited some very remote places in Britain but also reached trigs that are located in very easy places to walk to.

There is also a number of other telecommunication masts and towers around the summit and side of the hill for mobile phones, Professional Mobile Radio users and emergency services. are recorded; one has never been found, probably never built and another one was only found this year. Top screed is cracked and missing some pieces and there's some substantial cracking through the pillar. Turton Tower in Chapeltown was home to the Lords of the Manor of Turton and dates to the 12th century. By this point of running the route I was trotting rather than running and grateful for little traffic.Here you need to cross the fence and continue to follow the path, which eventually becomes a worn vehicle track, towards West Nab trig pillar. I'm much closer to completing the trig point tables for the various English National Parks than I am for the different types of trig points.
