About this deal
The beauty and headline feature of the Andrew James Professional Ice Cream Maker is that the removable bowl doesn't have to be pre-frozen. Its compact design means it can easily be tucked away in a cupboard or sit prettily on a countertop without claiming much space.
Remove the inner bowl from the freezer and put it into the outer bowl, and lower the assembled lid/power unit/paddle into the bowl before turning it clockwise to lock into position. Another useful feature was that the paddle has some tolerance where it joined to the power unit, so there was no need to worry about the ice cream becoming too firm.We liked the simplicity of the controls; a kitchen appliance novice would find this a breeze to use. Our biggest criticism is that it only makes one litre of ice cream at a time, but its excellent features more than make up for this. Most of the ice creams we’ve been experimenting with contain sugar – but I’m testing out some new recipes that have reduced sugar, or even sugar alternatives.
g. if you book a rental for on Monday evening for Wednesday morning), then this cooling-off period does not apply. The only real downside is that this machine doesn’t ship with any inspirational recipes, so you’ll need to go elsewhere to get started. The machine comes with a few recipes to get you started, ranging from ice cream and sorbets to frozen desserts and yoghurts. It allows for creativity and adaptation of recipes to cater to dietary needs or preferences, ensuring that indulgence can still be healthy.Removing it from the bowl was straightforward, except around the base and sides, where the ice cream was frozen harder. This required some pre-prep: making a sugar syrup before adding fruit juice and whisking up an egg white. It does look modern and somewhat elegant with its stainless steel exterior front and plastic black back.
