Actions, emotions, body language, silent communication, it’s all written so clearly; I can easily picture the scenes in my head. They both recognize each other from their dreams and start an emotional relationship, however the fact that Eliza already has a partner makes things a little more turbulent. Especially when a book is sold to me as a Star-Crossed lovers, fated mate, romance and then pulls the rug out from under me.

New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter. When I opened my eyes it was with a content sigh, rolling sidelong to face the man who laid in bed with me. I've read a lot of romance and a good amount of sci-fi but not usually together and I was so happy with this. I’m an Emily Henry stan, I love her dialogue, her mind, her wit, her banter, honestly you could have handed me this book without a title or an author and I would have read the prologue and said “ah, this an Emily Henry novel.Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. His tangled hand in my hair pulled me down against his mouth again as I rocked my hips against his faster, biting at his bottom lip as he kissed me. I sit down on the unmade bed and fling my head backwards into the pillows, sucking my teeth as I try to imagine what their conversation might sound like. Forced into the same proximity for the duration of travel, they struggle to understand what it means for them to finally meet when the universe seems to be pulling them both in different directions.

I understand what Kinword was going for, but Spoiler Inception-ing us was ultimately a frustrating way to end what would have been a 5 star read. Silas knows when a man is attractive, he’s given into that inclination many times, and he can’t help now but notice his and Logan’s very opposite features. However, some of the dialogue came off as pretentious (and some of the more unusual words may have been misused, unless Logan really did cheat on Eliza at the beginning by 'canoodling' with a bartender, and everyone missed it), we didn't really get a sense of who Eliza was outside her relationships with Logan and Silas, and the ENDING. I wouldn’t have expected someone who was too ill to sleep to have spent their night reading my annotations.I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters, and I love that we got more back story on Silas as the story went on; I just wish we got more background knowledge on Eliza as well.
