I first bought a bottle of Chic back in 2009 that smelled different from the bottle I bought in 2013. It begins with notes of watermelon, crisp citruses and cardamom and gets warmer with cinnamon and pepper. Watermelon is not a note that you expect to find in a men's fragrance, and I must admit that I was a little sceptical at first. Chic for Men by Carolina Herrera is an elegant and sophisticated blend of fresh, spicy and woody notes.

First time, it was 2-3 hrs after applying and I had been walking outside in the cold windy streets of Detroit and then walked into a restaurant and the hostess said “ Oh my God you smell amazing. The atomizer s not so good , some times works fine , but not as satisfying as any fragrance I had tested, Herrera for men has very good and much better atomizer for example, I don't like the cap either, it just cover the atomizer, but doesn't stick at its place , so you can't lift the bottle up . I really think anyone can pull this one off because it has a very good balance between a fresh and sweet opening combined with a warm seductive base that maintains some sweetness. I get a spicy aroma (with watermelon aspect to it), cardamom mostly, i do get pepper but i don't get the cinnamon much. Seriously, it smells like you're in a watermelon field with a freshly cut watermelon in front of you.

This violet note is supported by a watery, violet, kiwi ingredient like Undecavertol, perhaps this is also where the watermelon idea showed up together with Calone. Very well designed fragrance and a very unique offering considering the other releases from the past few years. If you want something other than a blue scent that is masculine along with being office safe this is a good choice. Top notes are Watermelon, Cardamom, Lemon, Bergamot and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Pepper and Cinnamon; base notes are Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Musk, Amber and Cedar. You may not think they are suitable to give as a gift, but they are perfect for your personal use (or perhaps for non-discerning family and friends).It's a pleasant crowd pleasing fragrance that can be worn day or night during warmer months such as Spring and Summer but also during the fall if not too cold.

Presentation is basic, bottle isn't bad, but the cap is plastic and flimsy and feels like its going to fall apart when you remove it from the bottle. I thoroughly enjoyed smelling this fragrance because it was pleasant from the opening to the drydown.
