About this deal

If you’re up to the challenge of prying open the straw every time you want a sip - this is your bottle. However, if you’re anything like me and have a constant fear of your drink spilling in your bag (been there too many times), there’s not a chance of anything leaking here, even with the flip cap open. Glass is easy to clean, bamboo fibre is sustainable, stainless steel keeps liquids both hot and cold for time and plastic is lightweight and durable.

Predictably, the drawback to the bottle having such a gigantic water capacity is that it looks ridiculous to carry round in public. There’s a wide variety out there but broadly, they fall into two main categories: those that offer thermal linings, thus keeping your coffee hot for hours; and those that don’t, so the coffee must be consumed fairly quickly, just like you would with a regular mug or disposable cup. This narrower opening and soft plastic of the collar make for a super comfortable drinking position. The latter, as you can probably guess, tends to be cheaper – and there’s an argument that they’re easier to drink from, because the coffee doesn’t stay boiling hot.One of the classic travel mug designs, one that instantly springs to mind when many think of reusable coffee cups, is the KeepCup.

I was so excited to get two of the new Chilly's bottles however, after using them for a little while, they became mouldy and rusted after being left with the lid on for a few weeks. That’s why it’s shot to fame online and is now the bane of every parent’s lives, as kids beg to have one to fit in at school. Was so excited by the series 2 design (aesthetics, handle, silicon base) but similar to other reviews actually drinking from it is totally impractical. While I maintain there has been a decline in aesthetics, everything that I disliked about the Original has been rectified here. It’s a shatter-resistant plastic lid with a large chug opening in the middle for gulping water on the go. This cup folds up and fits in your pocket, is seriously lightweight and comes in a range of mood-boosting hues, like this lovely peony shade. A few years ago school children were desperate for a Chilly’s bottle, now it’s this new age of pod water bottles (which cost more than most stainless steel bottles).
