About this deal

Discover all there is to love about our Blue Planet, the stories of its inhabitants, and realise how you can help protect this wilderness beneath the waves. Meet the amazing animals, birds and plants that live in our oceans, the habitats in which they live, then learn about the harmful effects climate change, oil spills and plastic waste can have on them - plus, what you can do to help future generations! Their landscape is the best thing they can imagine, the skies thrill them and the waterfalls fill them with wonder. Covers every thing in such detail but still very readable, wall laid out with great diagrams and pictures to fully explain everything.

Already excited looking at the super images and the totally breathtaking shots this book has captured the moments wonderfully. But Hulda and Brimir soon discover that their endless fun has consequences they could never have imagined. This engaging book introduces children to the animals that live in the world's oceans, rivers, lakes, and ponds. I bought it for my wife and she constantly flicks through, as do our friends and family when they visit. That has hardly been proven correct, but it has until recently almost been confined to cinema - you barely got a TV series worthy of a numbered sequel, and never in the world of non-fiction. If someone has made a nature series about, say, Alaska (and boy aren't there are a lot of those these days) and wants to make another, why she just makes another - nothing would justify the numeral. In collaboration with BBC Earth, this illustrated non-fiction book will capture the wonder, beauty, and emotion of the iconic BBC Blue Planet II TV series. It is educational and I will encourage children in the family to read this and look at the pictures.

Here at Blue Planet Aquarium we pride ourselves on being a great place to visit for all the family and our space is designed with access for everyone in mind. In collaboration with BBC Earth and based on the Blue Planet II TV series, this illustrated non-fiction book is designed to help children to dive into the beautiful wilderness beneath the waves and to emphasise the unique importance of ocean life to our planet. From ambush hunters such as the carnivorous bobbit worm to cuttlefish mesmerising their prey with a pulsating light display, Blue Planet II reveals the never-before-seen secrets of the ocean . It can have you jumping around a book, but then this is just as much a reference book as a cover to cover reading book. You may well remember when the sticking of a number '2' after a film title was suggesting something of prestige - that the first film had been so good it was fully justified to have something more. Great book, it was on a recommended reading list for the Marine Zoology course I am doing and the local library did not have a copy (?

The Blue Planet is a reminder of what we know and what we still don't know about the oceans and is a timely reminder of how fragile its ecosystems can be.

With 300 breathtaking photographs and stills from the BBC Natural History Unit's spectacular footage, each chapter brings to life a different habitat of the oceanic world. A lavish and definitive view of the oceanic world - accompanying the landmark 7-part BBC series narrated by Sir David Attenborough. He was series producer on the BBC’s landmark series Africa, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, and his other television credits include Wildlife on One and The Natural World.
