Recently took a motoring holiday and as the 512 quality is full HD the dash cam footage forms an integral part of the finished holiday video, and I uploaded the days clips each evening, and cleared the card before the next days clips. Its audio recording, GPS capabilities, and automatic recording feature contribute to its overall functionality and convenience.

Best response from NB is "i will ask the development team and see if we are still working ona fix for this and a new firmware will be made to combat this issue" that was said on 17 July and nothing more has been heard.You can turn on a parking mode, where the 512GW will sit in standby mode and record two minutes of video every time it detects physical movement. With both units plugged in all the time I believe you do not even get the "where do you want the rear view" question - it assumes you still want it where you last selected it. On the front of the 512GW the 6-layer glass lenses are covered by a special anti-glare polarizing filter. If you don't clip it up, you could end up with the cable running from the front to the back of your car - which is another reason to recommend hardwiring.

However, with the rear cam attached, the footage quality drops from 1440P to 1080P, which means footage can become very dark (as you'll see in the video lower down in this review.Unfortunately, this has a non-removable car cigarette light adapter at the other end, so you won’t easily be able to hook up the 512GW and a satnav to automotive power – unless your car has a USB connection and the satnav can make use of this. Nextbase sensibly recommends you install it within the rear wiper’s path so the view isn’t obscured by dirt or rain, but doing so in many cars would also partially obscure your view out of the back and leave that cable trailing across the glass. Although, when it isn't so bright (when driving through the village in the above video), the footage is a bit lighter and you can see details like reg plates.
