About this deal

While this is a new model, it actually slots neatly into the same modular system used by the Thrustmaster T500 RS, which was released in the PS3 era but offers some compatibility with PS4. That means the R300 RS can use the gearbox and advanced pedal board Thrustmaster already sells. What you get in the box here need only be a starting point. Using belts is fine, but the Thrustmaster T-GT also has a slightly notchy turn feel that we were hoping too see smoothed-out in the upgrade from T300RS to T-GT. Fanatec’s CSL Elite’s turning is significantly smoother. Note: On PlayStation®5, your racing wheel also works with all PS4™ compatible games listed in the LIST OF PLAYSTATION®4 GAMES section. The Thrustmaster T-GT doesn’t come with next-level pedals and its steering could be smoother considering the price. As such it seems a little expensive, if still a sensational wheel in its own right.

Of course, all these effects are actually created by game developers, with Thrustmaster merely providing the tools with which to relay them. This is an important point, because as yet the PS4 — the lead platform for the Thrustmaster T300 RS — does not have a particularly serious racing game in its library. This GT Edition is based on the standard T300RS that has been available for some time. The biggest change is in the pedals. The accelerator and brake are now joined by a clutch pedal. Those who like to shift gears by hand now only need a gear shifter - we recommend the Thrustmaster TH8A Add-on Shifter. The accelerator and clutch pedal can be adjusted based on your height and distance. For the brake, a progressive resistor can be installed (included in delivery). Only Minor Tweaks Necessary It’s not a major win if you race with headphones or a headset. But switching between the T-GT, T300RS and Logitech G29 those older wheels seem positively distracting by comparison. Once again, the immersion factor is simply better. With the help of the Thrustmaster T300 Rs in the GT Edition, you have a very good set for driving racing simulations. Sometimes the steering wheel does not respond (this does not always have to be due to the steering wheel). The steering wheel sits well in the hands when driving. At a price of 399 euros I had wished nicely rather leather cover on the steering wheel, but still a very nice experience product.We’ll be testing the Thrustmaster T300 RS primarily with DriveClub on PS4, Gran Turismo 5/6 on PS3, and a few other racing titles on PC. I've recently just upgraded my based from the CSL to the CSW V2.5 (Not intrested in the DD wheels even though it's the same price 2nd hand). Because I tend to drive late 80's to early 90's F1 cars, I find having a heavy feel with my wheel just makes me enjoy the race that much more.

Looking to get a wheel and I'm having a hard time deciding between the more budget friendly Logitech G series / Thrustmaster T248 or the more expensive ones such as T300 RS GT, TX Leather edition. I've also looked into used ones but I do like the idea of having the warranty knowing these might crap out. My main choice is now T300 RS GT as a lot of people recommends it, it can be upgraded, paired with a nice H pattern shifter but I've found the pool on this forum,about the reliability of the T300, and it doesn't look good. So now I'm out of viable options...what do you think?

We’re slightly surprised the wheel diameter is quite a small as it is, though. It’s roughly the same as the T300, about 70% of a real car’s scale, smaller than the Fanatec rival. A larger wheel naturally provides a more serious, realistic feel. And takes up more space, mind. The general look is rather smart, though, and less of an audience-divider than the Fanatec CSL Elite’s grey disco ball fascia. It features a little slider on the wheelbase that switches compatibility between PC/PS3 and PS4, because it’s not simply a case of developing a PS4 driver.
